I’M CURRENTLY WITTING THIS AT 22 JANUARY AROUND 24 HOURS BEFORE GOOGLE CODE-IN CONTEST END For my whole winter break (2 December 2019–23 January 2020), I was participating in GOOGLE CODE-IN

2019 global, online contest introducing teenagers to the world of open source development. WHAT IS GOOGLE CODE-IN Google Code-in (or GCI) is a contest organized since 2010 by Google. The

main purpose is to introduce pre-university students (ages 13–17) to Open Source World. In the Contest, selected organizations provide bite-sized tasks for students. THE WHOLE TASK-BASED

SYSTEM I this year contest Google choose 29 participating organizations. The organizations created a large list of short tasks (3–6 hours) for students to work on. Tasks are categorized as:

Code, Documentation/Training, Outreach/Research, Quality Assurance, or Design. Even this article is a Task! PRIZES For every student’s there are 2 prizes for completing tasks: * DIGITAL

CERTIFICATE for completing at least one task. * CONTEST T-SHIRT for completing at least three tasks. I addition of these prizes, each organization will select 6 students as a finalist. From

finalist, organizations will select 2 Grand Prize Winners and 2 Runners up: * GRAND PRIZE WINNERS will win Trip to Google’s Headquarters in Mountain View, California with 1 of parents. Also,

full information._ THE CIRCUITVERSE — ONLINE DIGITAL LOGIC CIRCUIT SIMULATOR This year I choose CIRCUITVERSE as my main organization where I will contribute. As I said in my previous post:

CircuitVerse is Most Modern Digital Circut Simulator. You can read about the organization here: CIRCUITVERSE IS MOST MODERN DIGITAL CIRCUT SIMULATOR I CAN BET YOU HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT A

WONDERFUL TOOL FOR ALL DIGITAL CIRCUITS GEEKS WHICH IS CIRCUITVERSE. WHY DO I THINK… medium.com I have completed 13 TASKS. You can see my whole coding contribution on GitHub. I choose that

organization cause I’m interested in electronics and logic circuits and I didn’t know ruby as much as other organization’s technologies but it wasn’t that hard to learn it. WAS IT WORTH IT

Free T-Shirt and other prizes are cool but the whole knowledge, skill and satisfaction that I earned by contributing to Open Source is enormous. I know that all of the features and fixes

that I made and all issues that I reported makes the platform a better place. I no longer will be scared to contribute to any open software. After the whole contest, I can say it was worth

it I want to thank Google, CircuitVerse Mentors and Contributors for making this contest as fun as it was. _Links: _Contest Homepage CircuitVerse _Google Code-in and the Google Code-in logo
