Correction to: _Nature Aging_ https://doi.org/10.1038/s43587-024-00733-w, published online 13 December 2024. In the version of the article initially published, in Fig. 1b, the _y_ axis was
labelled “Mean age at first birth (female)” but should have been labelled as “Mean age at childbearing (female)”. The figure caption for Fig. 1b has been updated accordingly from “Changes in
average childbearing age (1950–2020), the mean age at which female individuals have their first child. Estimates are based on age specific fertility rates of first-born children in one
particular year” to “Changes in average childbearing age (1950–2020), the mean age at which female individuals bear a child. Estimates are based on age-specific fertility rates of children
