A senior Department of Justice official has suggested former first lady Jill Biden should face criminal charges for “elder abuse” for not revealing what she knew about her husband’s health
problems. Leo Terrell, a senior counselor to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, made the call soon after news broke that former President Joe Biden had been diagnosed with
advanced prostate cancer, which many suggested may have been hidden, like his cognitive decline. Terrell responded to an X post that said Jill Biden “knew about President Biden’s health
problems” but “still wanted him to run for President.” “Elder abuse! Criminal charges??” Terrell wrote. Terrell also reposted a number of similar reactions to his about Jill Biden’s supposed
neglect. “Elder abuse is a form of domestic violence and Dr Biden has a lot of explaining to do about her part in defrauding the American people and taxpayers,” one of the posts on X that
he reshared read. “I would never wish Joe Biden physical harm despite my personal political views; too bad his own family compromised his well-being.” EXPLORE MORE “His medical team should
have caught this years ago! Shame on Jill & all who turned their heads & ignored this! They indeed are guilty of elder abuse & if they have him go thru [sic] any medical
procedure now, radiation or chemo, they should be shot! But they wanted the attention & status at any cost,” was one of the more pungent responses that Terrell shared on X. His tweet
came as many suggested that news of Biden’s cancer had been hidden from the public, with medical experts saying it was “inconceivable” that it could have gone undetected despite potentially
spreading for up to a decade. “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” first son Don Trump Jr. asked. His father,
President Trump, also later said of his predecessor’s diagnosis: “Somebody is not telling the facts.” The results of Biden’s annual physicals, released while he was president from 2021 to
2025, did not mention anything about prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening, which is used to detect early signs for prostate cancer and is recommended for men over 50 by the American
Cancer Society. Former President Biden shared a picture of himself and Jill with their pet cat, Willow, on Monday morning as he broke his social media silence on the diagnosis on X. “Cancer
touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support,” the post read.
