Neo-soul singer releases explicit version of seductive new single, "Coffee," which features guest appearance from rapper Wale Miguel has confirmed that his long-awaited new album,
_Wildheart_, will be released this summer on Bystorm Entertainment/RCA Records. The LP’s first single, the seductive “Coffee,” is now available on iTunes and other digital retailers – and
the neo-soul singer has also shared an alternate, explicit version of the track, titled “Coffee (Fucking),” available to stream above. Both versions feature Miguel crooning in his usual
smooth style over pulsating synths and electronic rhythms, backed by lush vocal harmonies. “Bubble bath, Truth or Dare and ‘Would you rather?'” he sings, detailing a night of
adventurous romance. “A cold flame, the thrill of no shame / Drugs, sex and polaroids.” The track, in both forms, features a quotable guest spot from rapper Wale. “We talk recent movies and
old tunes / Emulate _50 Shades_ over Jodeci grooves,” he rhymes. “Kisses give her goosebumps / well, that’s cool – I used to tutor braille.” The hook reveals the two versions’ major
difference, which – in its explicit form – ends with the line, “Sweet dreams turns into fucking in the morning” instead of “coffee in the morning.” TRENDING STORIES “Coffee” first appeared
on Miguel’s surprise, three-song EP (also featuring “NWA” and “Hollywooddreams”), which the singer posted on his Soundcloud page in December. It’s been three years since Miguel’s acclaimed
breakout second LP, _Kaleidoscope Dream_, but he’s remained busy. In 2014, he contributed a song, “Simplethings,” to the _Girls Vol. 2_ soundtrack and joined Wale for a reimagined version of
Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets” on the most recent _Goodbye Yellow Brick_ reissue. The previous year, he added vocals to Mariah Carey’s summer hit “#Beautiful.”
