TWO SCHOOLBOYS WERE SENT TO HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES AFTER A COLLISION ON THE A467 14:13, 21 May 2025 Two students have been taken to hospital after a school bus crashed while taking pupils
home. The incident involved a Newport Bus service which crashed while transporting students on their homeward journeys from Bassaleg High School. The collision happened on the A467 near
Rogerstone just after 3pm on Tuesday. Police were called to the scene and confirmed that the bus involved was carrying schoolchildren – two of whom were treated in hospita; for minor
injuries. Newport Bus has since confirmed that the bus involved was one of theirs and an investigation is under way to establish what happened. _Never miss a Newport story by __subscribing
to our newsletter here_. A spokesman for Newport Bus said: "Our local bus service numbered B2 was involved in an accident on May 20, 2025. "We are currently investigating the root
cause of the accident including the review of external and internal CCTV images from the vehicle." Gwent Police has confirmed two 18-year-olds were taken to hospital but their injuries
are believed to be minor. Article continues below A force spokesman said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on the A467 near Bassaleg at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, May
20. "Officers attended and the collision involved a bus carrying schoolchildren. "Only minor injuries were reported and two 18-year-old boys attended hospital following the
