STUART SNOWDEN, ALSO KNOWN AS GRUMPY NORTHERN FOODIE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, RECENTLY VISITED A HOME BARGAINS CAFE WITH HIS FAMILY FOR A BARGAIN BREKKIE - BUT HOW DID IT MEASURE UP? 08:00, 31 May
2025Updated 08:32, 31 May 2025 If you're on the hunt for a wallet-friendly bite while out and about, social media munch-master Stuart Snowden's got a good tip. The bloke behind
Grumpy Northern Foodie has been scoping out Home Bargains' grub offerings. The discount giant's rolled out cafes in its bigger shops, with over 30 spots now serving up nosh across
the UK. Stuart popped into one of these joints for brekkie and was chuffed with what he found. "Did you know Home Bargains have a café now?" he asked his 331k fans on TikTok.
"I don't think they are in every store yet but they're opening them up and the prices are really good." His video gave a sneak peek at the menu, flaunting bargain bites
like breakfast rolls starting at £1.99, toasties for £2.75, and a spread of other offerings including paninis, wraps, and focaccia, all at the same price point, reports the Liverpool Echo.
He couldn't overlook the bakery bit either, with pastries up for grabs at just 89p, doughnuts for 59p, and sausage rolls for only 50p. "A lot of these are products you can buy in
the [general retail section of] Home Bargains too [including sandwiches, crisps, drinks]," Stuart pointed out. "So we decided to stop off for a little bite to eat." His family
tucked into a hearty breakfast spread including a bacon roll, a sausage and bacon roll, a slice of Victoria sponge, coffee, Diet Coke, and crumpets. He was chuffed with the price,
exclaiming: "The whole thing came to £10.75. That's as cheap as it comes for a quick stop-off breakfast. And for the price of the food, it was actually pretty good." He also
gave a thumbs up to the cafe's cleanliness, observing that it was "absolutely spotless" despite a bustling atmosphere. Yet, Stuart did flag up a slight snag, noting: "The
only downside was we had to wait quite a while for the food because there wasn't that many staff working at the time - which was a shame as they were working really hard and they were
under a lot of pressure." Summing up his visit, he recommended: "So folks - keep your eyes peeled for a Home Bargains cafe if you want value for money - absolutely a 10 out of 10.
Food and drink - for the price you can't really grumble - I'm giving it an overall eight out of 10." TikTok users joined the conversation with one user raving: "Absolute
bargain! So fab that you mentioned how hard that the staff were working and love that your include your lovely family." Another user complimented: "For the price of what
you're eating its actually quite good." Article continues below A third chimed in: "£1 hotdog with crispy onions ketchup and mustard is class." And a fourth TikTokker
enthused: "The sausage and bacon barm is banging."
